Dr. John W. Hovorka, MD
Dr. John W. Hovorka is a general surgeon, specializing in vascular medicine and wound
care. Following surgical training at The University of Missouri and Texas Tech University, he relocated to the Rio Grande Valley in 2002 to
render services to their medically underserved community and has continued to serve South Texas for the last 22 years. Staying true to his willingness and devotion to
providing for his community, Dr. Hovorka also serves his country as lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is a pioneer in the medical community. In addition
to his practices, he has also served as a trauma surgeon at McAllen MedicalCenter, where he was appointed Trauma Medical Director and was pivotal in obtaining
their Level 1 Trauma Center designation.
